One Hour at the Fragrance Bar

Arrive at L'Atelier Fragrance Bar
Step into an intimate studio designed for two to six guests. Vintage mirrors. Dried florals. Rows of amber dropper bottles holding every note you might reach for — from bergamot and neroli to oakmoss, sandalwood, and amber. Take your seat. Breathe in.
This is the workshop. For the next hour, it's yours.
Explore the fragrance library
Learn the language of scent — top notes that catch you first, heart notes that hold the character, base notes that linger for hours after. You'll move through fragrance families on scent strips — citrus, floral, woody, gourmand, fougère — and discover what your own nose actually reaches for.
Most people are surprised. That's part of the point.
Blend your signature scent
With guidance from a Certified Sommelier — trained to think about what you're smelling the way a sommelier thinks about wine — you'll build your fragrance drop by drop. Adjusting. Smelling. Refining. Until you arrive at something that feels unmistakably like you.
No two guests ever make the same scent. That's the promise.
Bottle it. Name it. Take it home.
Pour your finished fragrance into a gold-capped 1 oz atomizer. Give it a name. Write down the recipe so you can make it again. And walk out with a souvenir of Sonoma that no one else in the world is wearing.

Meet Stephanie Culen
Stephanie is a Certified Sommelier, former yoga teacher of twenty years, and the founder and perfumer behind Duncans Mills Candle Co. and Après Fragrance. She's spent her career studying how the senses guide us back to ourselves — and she'll be the one guiding you through your hour at the Fragrance Bar.
Her approach brings together the precision of sommelier training, the presence of a long yoga teaching practice, and a working perfumer's library of raw materials. She teaches the way she was taught to taste wine — slowly, specifically, and with genuine curiosity about what you're actually smelling.
